[KPOP Releases] June 6 – 12, 2020

by Shaira Aquino June 14, 2020
written by Shaira Aquino

Summing up last week’s summer-hot releases! We have an OST collaboration from Lim Hanbyul and Kim Jaehwan, first mini albums from Jeon Sang Keun, SUPER JUNIOR K.R.Y and BTOB Eunkwang, comebacks from N.Flying, DIA and JeA and a special album from MOMOLAND! How awesome is that? Check them out below!

June 6 – Lim Han-byul, Kim Jae-hwan – You Are My End and my Beginning

Vocalists Lim Han-byul and kim Jae-hwan collaborated for the 13th OST of “The King: The Lord of Eternity”. “You Are My End and My Beginning” is a ballad song with lyrics of great emotion. The song contains the narrative of Emperor Lee Gon, who tries to protect Jung Tae-eul beyond the parallel world.

June 7 – Jeon Sang Keun 1st MINI ALBUM “한 걸음: 흔적” [One Step: Traces]

Jeon Sang Keun, who took a lot of heart and soul into the process of preparing the album to take a step closer to the hearts of the public and leave traces to many people with his own music. The album consists of songs with different moods that give you a different feeling. The title song “Love is” is a song that expresses longing for the other person who is not around, as well as memories that remain clear as the period of love is prolonged.

June 8 – Seo Eun-kwang (BTOB) 1st Mini Album [FoRest: Entrance]

“FoRest” is a combination of “Forest” and “For Rest,” meaning that it presents warm and comfortable music that gives listeners a break. Seo Eun-kwang’s delicate acting expresses the youth’s rise to look at the bigger world outside the window, stands out from the small figure in the mirror. Let’s comfort ourselves with Seo’s warm music, which is dazzling like the summer sun, full of hope and excitement.

Super Junior-K.R.Y 1st Mini Album ‘푸르게 빛나던 우리의 계절 (When We Were Us)’

Super Junior-K.R.Y., “The Best Vocal Unit” composed of Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung, has finally released its first mini-album! The title track ‘푸르게 빛나던 우리의 계절 (When We Were Us)’ is a piano with a calm and delicate touch, a track arrangement that develops more dramatically in the second half, and a traditional ballad song that expresses a deeper emotional longing for the loved one, adding to the charm by meeting with the emotional vocals of K.R.Y.

It is more special because it contains the meaning of recollection with fans (E.L.F) who have stayed together until now. The album will be like a gift to fans who have been waiting for them for a long time.

June 9 – Chungha(청하) – New.wav [Be Yourself.newwav]

New.wav, a 2020 music project that will expand the pie of ‘good music’ pursued by MNH Entertainment. The third release of the New.wav project is the collaboration song ‘Be Yourself’ by Chungha and Sprite. The song, which begins with a cool intro blending the various sizzles of retro disco guitar riffs and sprite, completed a cool summer hymn like a drink that infused the exciting mumbaton rhythm, mixed the colorful brass section, and floated the ice-cold refreshing chungha vocals above it, making even forget the hot summer heat.

June 10 – N.Flying (엔플라잉) 7th Mini Album ‘So, 通 (소통)’

N.Flying is back with their title song “Oh, really?”. In a world full of face-to-face and non-face-to-face communication, are we really communicating or are we locking ourselves up a chance to show our sincerity with a soulless answer, “Oh, really?”. The song contains a desire to share real feelings rather than formal communication. The cool-feeling flux sound and marimba are attractive songs, especially the groovy guitar, bouncy drum and bass sound.

DIA 6th MINI ALBUM [Flower 4 Seasons]

The girls who will bloom the K-pop scene with their colorful charms are back! DIA’s sixth mini-album “Flower 4 Seasons” with a total of six songs. The title track “Hug U” is a dance song by DIA with a powerful rhythm on top of the beautiful string melody. DIA’s refreshing and girlish sensibility maximize the fresh and sentimental feeling of the upcoming summer.

June 11 – MOMOLAND Special Album “Starry Night”

On a pitch-black city night, MOMOLAND’s starlight is pouring down into the sky to light up the darkness. “Starry Night” is a city pop dance song that will show a different charm that MOMOLAND has never shown before. The moment you try to get out the shy confession you’ve been hiding! The lyrics written together by all members of Momoland give a glimpse of Momoland’s musical growth.

June 12 – JeA(제아) Digital Single [Greedyy]

Featuring MAMAMOO’s Moonbyul, Brown Eyed Girls’ JeA is back with her newest digital single “Greedyy”! It is a song about wanting to be confident in every moment without being aware of other people’s eyes. With its groovy and sensuous melody, JeA’s delicate yet powerful vocals are added to the cheerful message that it is okay to be a little meaner and sometimes greedy.

Oh, really? That’s it? Don’t be greedyy for we will be back next week as bright as a Starry Night!
