WATCH: P-Pop group BGYO shared their journey on being an idol + KPOP groups they want to work with

by Philippine KPOP Convention

“Let’s be each other’s light in this darkness.”

P-Pop boy group, BGYO, has officially been launched last January 29, 2021 with their debut single, “The Light.” They are composed of five members namely, Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki, and Nate. BGYO, formerly known as SHA Boys, was one of the guests during Happy Hallyu Day 4. PKCI got the chance to know more about them, their preparations on being an idol, and the KPOP groups they want to work with in the future.

Nagkaroon po kami ng auditions para sa parts po ng The Light. Nagsesend po kami ng videos sa MU Doctor po and sila po ‘yung nagbigay po ng parts sa amin.” JL explained. Before debuting as BGYO, they were trained not only by Filipino coaches, but also by a South Korean training group, MU Doctor. These Korean coaches have also trained a lot of famous KPOP idols like Mino (Winner), Hye-bin (Momoland), Hyojung (Oh My Girl), I.M (Monsta X), Changbin (Stray Kids) and Kim Sohee (Produce 101). “Nareceive po namin ‘yung choreo sa Korean [coaches] last year. Inaral po namin ‘yun and prinactice po namin lagi,” JL continued.

Since most of them are KPOP fans, PKCI asked them the KPOP groups that they want to work with in the future. “We really look up to all KPOP artists. I think, in the future, we want to work with groups like BTS, EXO, NCT, WayV, Stray Kids, and GOT7.” Nate told PKCI.
