written by Philippine KPOP Convention

So light up your calendars for April 26, 2025, because LEE MINHO is waiting for you at the SM Mall of Asia Arena for the 2025 LEE MINHO ASIA FAN MEETING TOUR ‘MINHOVERSE’ IN MANILA.

Back in 2008, six years after LEE MINHO started his journey to stardom, Kim Su-ro, one of his colleagues in the film “Our School’s E.T.”, said in his words referring to LEE MINHO, “I recognize a star when I see one.” Perhaps Kim Su-ro was right all along when he said that LEE MINHO was going to become one of the star actors in Korea someday. As if it was written in the stars, a year later, 2009, LEE MINHO’s breakthrough having the lead role of Gu Jun Pyo in the television series “Boys Over Flowers”. For some, it was the character of Gu Jun Pyo they fell in love with, but undeniably, for most, it was LEE MINHO’s outstanding acting that had them stuck with him. It is for this reason that he received the award of “Best New Actor” for a television series in the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards and the 2009 KBS Drama Awards. His popularity skyrocketed, making him a Hallyu star.

In his pursuit of becoming one of the top global Hallyu stars, LEE MINHO also took on the leading role of “City Hunter” in 2011, “The Heirs” in 2013, “The Legend of the Blue Sea” in 2016, and “The King: The Eternal Monarch” in 2020, his latest project “When the Stars Gossip”,  and many more. All enjoyed immense popularity both locally and internationally and have adorned LEE MINHO various awards such as the “Top Excellence Award for Actor” in the 2011 Korean Drama Awards and the 2011 SBS Drama Awards for his performance in “City Hunter”, a “Best Asian Actor” in the 2013 Baidu Feidian Awards, a “Breakthrough Performance of the Year” in the 2022 Gold Derby Awards” for Pachinko, and many more. His long list of accolades also includes the “Prime Minister’s Commendation” at the 5th Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards in 2014  for his contribution to the Korean Wave and a “National Brand Award Grand Prize for the Culture Sector” from the Institute of National Brand Promotion in 2017. Without a doubt, LEE MINHO transcended being an actor, he was now a star, one of the brightest in the world.

Throughout the years, LEE MINHO has become a household name not only in Korea but also around the world, being one of the most influential and sought-after Hallyu stars. His unwavering love and dedication not only to his craft but also to his loyal fans have been the driving force behind his phenomenal success, as he continuously strives to connect with them on a deeper level may it be in acting, music, or fan meetings. His EPs “My Everything” in 2013 and “Song for You” in 2014 are a testament to the genuine dedication he holds for MINOZ. He mentioned that he recorded these tracts solely for his fans, with no intention to pursue a singing career.

In the Philippines, Filo MINOZ had multiple opportunities to meet LEE MINHO through fan meetings often tied with brand promotions. But, this time, LEE MINHO will be back for the 2025 LEE MINHO ASIA FAN MEETING TOUR ‘MINHOVERSE’ tour, kicking off on March 8, 2025, in Seoul. And as if by celestial design, the universe has conspired to bring the brightest star close to you on April 26, 2025, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena for the 2025 LEE MINHO ASIA FAN MEETING TOUR ‘MINHOVERSE’ IN MANILA! The Light Shines Bright in Manila as Taeyang Concludes his World Tour Finale

by Philippine KPOP Convention March 2, 2025
written by Philippine KPOP Convention

The ever known KPOP royalty, Taeyang of BIGBANG, had his visit to the Philippines that no fan would dare to miss for his final stop for “The Light Year” world tour. Filipino VIPs crowded the SM Mall of Asia Arena proudly waving their lightsticks. This incredible show was made possible by KARPOS last February 22, an unforgettable night for his fans. The crowd had full energy despite the one-hour delay but the excitement increased as Taeyang’g music videos played on the LED displays, which the fand cheered, sang along, and let out their screams.

The fans screamed in excitement the moment the lights dimmed and the stage was filled with celestial displays. When Taeyang came out the stage to perform “Prayer,” he pulled everyone into his performance right away. Greeting his Filipino fans with “Na-miss ko kayo” which made the fans kilig and scream showing that they have been waiting for this moment to happen since his comeback last 2017. “I want you all to give it your all since tonight is the last night of “The Light Year” tour!, he added.

Fans of second and third generation music were connected together as Taeyang effortlessly blended these eras. The whole crowd was singing along with his popular songs like his collaboration with JIMIN of BTS with the song “VIBE.” He also performed his songs “1 AM,” “Stay With Me,” “Make Love,” “Inspiration,” and “Only Look At Me.” One of the most memorable was when he sang “Wedding Dress” which the Filipinos love very much. It continued with BIGBANG’s ballad songs like “Blue,” “If You,” “Loser,” and “I Need A Girl,” which had G-Dragon’s part.

Taeyang surprised his Filipino fans with his perfect performance of TJ Monterde’s “Palagi.” Because of his perfect pronounciation, fans requested for him to sing it again which he did.

Just as his concert were getting to the climax, Taeyang upped the crowd with the legendary anthems of BIGBANG. Fans jumped and screamed along to “BANG BANG BANG,” “FANTASTIC BABY,” and “WE LIKE 2 PARTY,” turning the arena into a celebration. The nostalgia of seeing these timeless songs being performed live made fans moved to tears. A must-hear for every Taeyang concert is his trademark song “Eyes, Nose, Lips,” which the crowd joined in in chorus and he sang it in acapella several times. The night went on forever as he kept adding songs to encore. The “The Light Year” world tour came to an end when he performed “Seed.”

During his sentimental speech, fans screamed ‘Yeorobun’ and said “You know I’m talking with a serious feeling and you guys want ‘Yeorobun’ right now, that’s so awkward” which earned laughs from fans. And as the person that he is, he never forgot to thank his Filipino fans and all the staff before he took his final bow exiting the stage.

This event was presented by KARPOS.
