Red Velvet first came to Manila in 2015 along with their co-SM artists Super Junior and Girls Generation. The second one was in 2019 as part of the K-Pop World Music Festival. Third time is a charm as they headline a concert for a cause BE YOU: The World Will Adjust in 2022. And now, finally they are back with a full concert in Manila making their fourth stop of Red Velvet 4th Concert: R to V, which kicks off in a 2-day concert in Seoul from April 1-2, 2023.
Red Velvet is a 5-member South Korean girl group formed and managed by SM Entertainment. They originally debuted on August 1, 2014, with the single “Happiness” with the four-member line-up of Irene, Seulgi, Wendy and Joy. A fifth member, Yeri, joined in March 2015, following the release of their first extended play, Ice Cream Cake. Sonically, the music of Red Velvet reflects their group name: their predominantly-pop “red” side experiments occasionally with electronic and funk, while their “velvet” side focuses on ’90s-influenced R&B with elements of ballad and hip hop. Their genre versatility and catchy hooks have garnered critical praise.
On February 24, 2023, SM Entertainment announced Red Velvet’s 3rd Full Album alongside a solo album for member Wendy.
