2019 ACH Invitation Program For ASEAN Fans of Hallyu

Philippine KPOP Convention Inc., was once again invited by the ASEAN Culture House (ACH) and Korea Foundation for their program “2019 ACH Invitation Program for ASEAN Fans of Hallyu”. It is a 9-day and 8-night program which aims to share the Korean culture by inviting delegates from 10 ASEAN countries and allow them to experience it.

PKCI staff Jay, Ivan, and Ruth, represented the Philippines for this event. Their mission is to create a video about their experiences in the program and also promote it to fellow Filipinos. Through this program, they were able to experience and explore the extraordinary Korea. During their stay, they visited different places not only in Seoul but also in Busan and Gyeonggi Province.

One reason why a lot of people want to visit South Korea is to see their idols. During their second day in South Korea, they saw 2AM Jinwoon, BTOB Changsub, and TXT. And on their 8th day, they attended a music show and watched NU’EST and DAY6 perform.

Aside from that, they also visited SMTown COEX Artium, 1Million Dance Studio, and SM Entertainment to name some KPOP-related places.

But Korea is not only known for KPOP. They are also known for its beauty. One of the most visited places is the beautiful Gamcheon Village where the Little Prince is located.

Throughout this whole program, they did not only enjoy South Korea but also earned new friends from different ASEAN countries. All of these great experiences were made possible by: Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines, Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines, Korea Foundation, and ASEAN Culture House

A Dream “Come True” for PH Joyfuls

JBJ Come True in Manila Press Conference held at Novotel.

PH Joyfuls’ dreams finally came to a reality after seeing JBJ rocked the stage of Kia Theatre last January 14, 2018 at around 7pm.

JBJ, short for Just Be Joyful, is made up of six members Kim Yongguk, Kim Sanggyun, Noh Taehyun, Takada Kenta, Kim Donghan, and Kwon Hyunbin. The members were all eliminated contestants from the show Produce 101 Season 2. JBJ started as a fan-imagined group and went straight to being an idol group who currently promotes and tours in Asia. Philippines happened to be their last stop.

Even before the start of the fan meeting, PH Joyfuls loudly cheered for JBJ. When JBJ stood up on stage to start with their first performance, everyone went wilder and screamed louder. After having few performances, JBJ had the talk segment. During their talk segment, Kenta mentioned that he wanted the Philippines’ Halo-Halo. Meanwhile, Hyunbin said that he once went here in the Philippines when he was a child.

JBJ also had their dance battles and the fans were asked to clap for the best dancer per song. Kenta and Donghan cheerfully danced to almost every song. The most memorable was their Gashina version.

An AVP was presented wherein PH Joyfuls were asked who is JBJ for them and they said, JBJ is their dream come true. The cake was also brought to stage and JBJ were excited to blow the candles.

They ended the fan meeting with special performances from their first mini album. The perks like hi-touch, photo op, signed posters, and polaroid came after the event was finished.
The whole fan meeting was splendid. It was truly a dream come true not only for JBJ but most especially for PH Joyfuls. We all hope that this fan meeting won’t be the first and last, but first and more to come. Don’t forget to check on JBJ for their upcoming comeback.

2019 Jang Ki Yong 1st Fan Meeting: Filmography in Manila

Last November 17, Jang Ki Yong visited the Philippines for his first ever fan meeting, “FILMOGRAPHY”, which was held at Samsung Hall, SM Aura, Taguig.

The model-actor opened the stage a beautiful rendition of the famous OST from Goblin, “Beautiful.” He was smiling all throughout his performance and mentioned that he is very happy to finally meet his Filipino fans. Jang Ki Yong said that it was actually his second time in the country. The first time he came here was 4 years ago for a vacation.

During his fan meeting, he was able to re-enact some scenes from his latest drama, “Search: WWW” together with some lucky fans. Not only that, he also showed how sporty he is while he played the relay game with his fans.

The fans really felt how kind Jang Ki Yong is. With all those smiles, teases, and his sincerity, for sure everyone will never forget that special night.
