MANILA, Philippines—As Kpop becomes more global especially during this pandemic, many idols have already gone into the digital space to host concerts such as BTS’ Map of the Soul ON:E, TWICE’s World In A Day, IZ*ONE’s Oneiric Theatre, even the KCON:TACT Summer 2020 which featured performances from various groups and gathered fan participation worldwide.

Some of the biggest collaborations happened in Kpop happened last week – GOT7 Youngjae and Choi Jung Yoon, IU and BTS SUGA, and BOL4 Ahn Ji-young and EXO Baekhyun! Plus, comebacks from Taeyeon and ASTRO. Discover them below!
May 2 – Lim Jaehyun & Moon Seongwook “Night(밤)”
In a busy life, someone tries for a dream, or sometimes gets energy from it. Moon Sungwook and Lim Jaehyun just released the song “Night(밤)”, a song that is a dream of everyone; a dream “like the starlight in the cloudy sky” and “like the warmth of the hidden dawn”.
May 3 – GOT7 Youngjae x Choi Jung Yoon “Fall in Love(빠져드나봐)”
GOT7’s Youngjae, in collaboration with Choi Jung-yoon, just launched a strong “support shooting” for his co-member GOT7 Park Jin-young, who is performing enthusiastically on tvN’s new Saturday drama “When My Love Blooms”. “Fall in Love(빠져드나봐)” is a medium tempo song with a bright atmosphere that expresses the feelings that the two main characters are gradually falling in love with each other after their first encounter, adding acoustic guitar and mellow EP sound.
May 4 – Taeyeon, new single ‘Happy’
Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation presents a special gift to her fans! The new song “Happy” is an R&B pop genre song that reinterprets old school doo-wop and R&B with modern sound, and the lyrics that contain warm, cozy excitement and happiness felt in the time spent with loved ones are impressive.
ASTRO 7th Mini Album [GATEWAY]
ASTRO just returned with their seventh mini album “GATEWAY”! The released title track, “Knock ( 널 찾아가)” is a “Chain Pop”-based song that starts with a refreshing piano and guitar riff and combines rhythmical drums to revive its intensity. The new album also contains Astro’s will to show another world by becoming a guide for wandering youths.
May 5 – WAYCHED 2nd EP Album “2MONTHS”
Back again in just exactly after a month releasing his single “Why Do U Say”, WAYCHED released his second EP album “2MONTHS” with the title track “Balance” and it’s a total bop! Looking from the song lyrics, it is a song telling an ex-lover to stop and that it’s already too much.
May 6 – ‘아이유(IU)’ Digital Single [Eight (Prod.&Feat. SUGA of BTS)]
IU and Suga of BTS attracted the ears with a balanced blend of unique personalities as they have released the newest digital single “Eight”, a band-based pop rock with a blend of analog sensibility and trendy sound. Unlike those previous delicate and emotional IU vocals, “Eight” adds a sense of refreshment with more direct singing and addictive melodies, allowing listeners to fall more into the song itself.
May 7 – BOL4(볼빨간사춘기) _ Leo(나비와 고양이) (feat. BAEKHYUN(백현))
BOL4 Ahn Ji-young and EXO Baekhyun, two artists of unrivaled tone met to create the warmest and most emotional duet song this spring. It digested the unique affectionate and lovely sensibility of the lyrics of “Leo(나비와 고양이)” in a refreshing and soft tone. It is a new style duet song that BOL4 tries for the first time, with the jazz piano and string ensemble of the chorus creating a mysterious atmosphere, with the highlight of the song being played by the Martian instruments.
May 8 – NCT 127 ‘영웅 (英雄; Kick It)’ Remix Single [iScreaM Project Part 1]
SM Entertainment’s EDM label ScreaM Records will carry out the iScreaM project, which will select one of the title songs released by SM every month and present it in a remix version, and is expected to draw attention by releasing NCT 127’s “Hero (Kick It)” remix song for the first time.

April 20
The week started with a surprise as BLACKPINK’s Lisa dropped her new dance cover on her YouTube channel, Lilifilm Official. Her cover awed a lot of viewers as she snapped gorgeously in the video.
April 21
The following day was followed with the news that Red Velvet‘s Seulgi and Irene are now preparing for a unit debut as per SM Entertainment (SME). The news was first reported by SPOTV News where SME confirmed it. Thus, this will be the first sub-unit of the group since their debut back on 2014.
April 22
Paul Kim just released his new mini album “Maum Pt.2” with his self-composed title track “But I’ll Miss You.” According to Soompi, the song topped in real-time charts of Korea’s major music services – Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Soribada by 1 a.m. KST on April 23. Check out Paul Kim’s song below.
April 23
As GOT7 just made their comeback, the group just dropped their dance practice for their song “Not By The Moon.” See below the on-point choreography of their title track from their mini-album “DYE.”
April 24
Rain just celebrated his 18th anniversary as a singer and an actor. He posted a thanksgiving message on his Instagram account with a video of him performing 18 years ago. He also shared a clip of him waiting to perform in Inkigayo back then 2002.
Meanwhile, former 2NE1 Dara thanked her co-member Minzy, on an Instagram post, for the support on her musical show “Another Oh Hae Young.” Dara just made her debut as a theater artist on the said show which is an adaptation of the Korean drama on the same name.
April 25
BTS had made their two music videos, “IDOL” and “MIC Drop” reached 650 million views in YouTube on the same day! “MIC Drop” (Steve Aoiki Remix) was released two years ago while “IDOL” was released a year ago. Congratulations to ARMY for the double celebration!
