South Korean singer Kim Won Shik has been honored with the Best Theme Song award at the 29th Asian Television Awards for his performance of “To Be With You,” the theme song of the Philippine adaptation of the hit K-Drama What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?. The awards ceremony took place last November 29-30 in Jakarta, Indonesia, highlighting the best of Asian television.
Kim Won Shik might not have been able to attend the event but he is very grateful for this recognition. In an official statement shared by his management team GLXY and his record label Universal Records, he says: “Receiving this award is truly beyond words. Simply being nominated was already an incredible honor, and now I am filled with immense gratitude.” He extends his heartfelt thanks to Universal Records Managing Director Kathleen Dy-Go; composers Hong Jung Su, Lee Jae Kyu, Lim Yu Jung; and VIU Head of Content Garlic Garcia for their invaluable support throughout his journey. Additionally, he wants to pay tribute to the late ABS-CBN executive Deo Endrinal, who always believed in him. “This honor means the world to me.”
Apart from singing the show’s theme song, Kim Won Shik also played a role in the series — CEO Daniel Park — alongside lead stars Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino. Kim Won Shik is out with a new song, “Hello My Love,” which is part of the soundtrack of the new VIU original series How To Spot a Red Flag, starring Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano.
