Rocky’s 1st Fancon Was a Masterpiece That Filled in the Blank—a night of connection, joy, and unforgettable memories in Manila
Rocky’s very first solo fancon wasn’t just a show—it was a story. A story that began with “Find Me,” a song that mirrored his quiet hope: that fans would one day find him, not just as a performer, but as his true self. That night in Manila, they did. The connection was instant, deep, and real.
He followed it up with “Read You,” a reflection of where he’s been, and then with “Masterpiece,” a song he dedicated to everyone in the room. Because to Rocky, the fans aren’t just part of the journey—they are the masterpiece.
Before the show, Rocky captured memories around the city. He shared that the first thing he saw in Manila was a perfectly half moon—a sign, maybe, that the night ahead would be special.
Touched by the gifts fans had given him, Rocky made a video in return. He said he was so moved that he actually slept surrounded by the presents on his bed—comforted by their thoughtfulness.
The energy returned full force onstage as he danced with joy—and then completely lit up the venue with a surprise Trot and a cover of 2NE1’s “I Am The Best. Rocky-style! With playful chants of “Rocky jeil jal naga!” and “Manila jeil jal naga!” it felt like a party only he could host.
Rocky made hearts flutter by speaking in Filipino:
“Mahal kita,” which he first learned 9 years ago,
“Kinagagalak kitang makilala,”
and a sweetly exaggerated “Sobrang miss kita.”
He came down from the stage during “Ba ba bye,” making the moment feel even more personal and alive.
Then came the crowd-favorite moment: Jollibee. Fans told him to try it, and when he got to the waiting room—it was already there. He raved about the chicken and gravy, calling it “really yummy!” It was a little thing, but it added to the warmth of the night.
When the audience started chanting “Walang uuwi!” (“No one’s going home!”), Rocky laughed and replied that his house is in Korea—so it’s too far. Still, he admitted: he regretted not coming back sooner. It had been 9 years, and he was afraid people might not show up. But they did—loud, proud, and full of love. He promised he’ll return again, “more cooler.”
Before ending the night, he introduced his dancers, showed off a little “sample,” and was visibly moved by the fanmade video tribute. Then, with Music is My Life” and “On My Mind” Rocky brought his first fancon to a perfect close.
Manila is now on his mind—and in his heart. And truly, Rocky’s 1st fancon was a masterpiece that filled in the blank with love with HAMOs.
