Jackson Wang took his “Magic Man 2” world tour in Manila last November 2, making the Smart Araneta Coliseum into his own universe. It was definitely a night that delivered emotion, intensity, and authenticity.
The fans knew they were in for something special as soon as Jackson took the stage for his opening song “High Alone.” He rose above the stage like a real showman, lights flashed, and smoke swirled during the performance. “Access” and “Hate Love” were his next songs, which kept his fans screaming.
The heat turned up when he brought fand onstage for “Contact” and “Closer.” Each performance was strong but creative, which showed a blend of his control and emotion— only he could execute. Then came the night’s most touching moment. Jackson played an emotional song “Sophie Ricky,” his tribute to his parents. Many fans were moved by tears by a video montage showed onstage that revealed a glimpse of his personal story, from his time with GOT7 to his challenges and development as an artist.
Before the night ended, Jackson expressed something that a lot of people could relate to: “A lot of times, selfish is not a bad thing. And feeling not okay is okay a lot of times… Whatever that happened to you, good and the bad, it made you who you are today.”
During the encore, he created the arena like a big dance floor, with beats, water splashed, and fans onstage which he made all stand up and dance. And he couldn’t help but smile and admire Manila’s crowd and energy.
It wasn’t just a concert— Jackson Wang opened his heart and allowed his fans to experience the magic with him. Everyone in the arena that evening became part of Jackson’s story.
