After 3 years, the sapphire blue ocean of Ever Lasting Friends (ELFs) welcomed Super Junior once again at the SM Mall of Asia Arena last December 17 and 18, 2022 for the Super Show 9: The Road. The said concert was supposedly held on August 6, 2022, however, it was set to another date due to unfortunate happenings. Despite this news, the members still made their way to meet with the fans that day to explain the situation and promised to return to the country once all things have been settled.
The long-awaited concert started as the members came out of the stage to the song “Burn the Floor”, which was followed by “The Crown”, “Super”, and one of their legendary songs, “Mr. Simple”.
The next part of the concert consisted of the songs “Ticky Tocky”, “Paradox”, “Mystery”, and “2yao2yao”. Aside from these songs, the Hallyu Kings also performed “Spy”, “Rokkugo”, and “Mamacita” in their marionette costumes paired with their classical musicians inspired hairs which they used in their God of Music VCR skit.
As the group celebrated their 17 years in the industry, the concert was filled with various songs from their rich discography such as “Believe”, “My Wish”, “Callin”, “House Party”, “Everyday”, “Wonder Boy”, and “Let’s Dance”.
One of the most memorable stages that they have performed was when they sang their newly released single titled, “Celebrate”, to which the fans also prepared a special event with their banners and blue Christmas hats.
Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Yesung, or better known as the sub-unit K.R.Y, also made a surprise stage with their song “I Can’t”. Another special stage was also seen as “Latte” was performed by Leeteuk, Shindong, and Siwon. The sub-unit D&E, composed of Donghae and Eunhyuk, also performed their songs “Bad” and “Danger”.
Crowd favorite songs such as “Devil”, “Mango”, “Black Suit”, “Sorry Sorry”, “Bonamana”, and “Happiness” were also witnessed by the fans as they jumped and partied with the group.
Before the concert ended, the Filipino ELFs were serenaded with “More Days with U” and “Walkin”.
In his message to the fans, Eunhyuk mentioned, “I think there are a lot of Santa’s blue ELFs today. You guys are the Christmas presents to us. Our concert can be a Christmas present to you.”
Presented by PULP Live World, this super show was indeed a memorable and heartwarming moment as the fans and their idols made sure to keep the promise that they have made and that is to have fun and enjoy the concert together.
