Wild Wild After Party is a breath-taking art in motion.

by Philippine KPOP Convention June 11, 2025
written by Philippine KPOP Convention

It is a bucket-list kind of experience first hand in the Philippines to see the art in motion of the all-male South Korean performance group of Wild Wild After Party, and it gave us an explosion of feels and moments to remember – that will make you want to come back all over again to relive the experience one more time and definitely wanting for more.

The remarkable musical experience took place last May 24, 2025 at New Frontier Theater which was divided into two exclusive shows: a 3PM time slot which was the Female-Only Show and the 8PM All-Gender Show, presented by Steve O’neal Productions and BingoPlus.

On a serene Saturday, with the scorching hot summer humidity of Manila – these eight good-looking and beautiful member male group “Korean Magic Mike” Oppa-deul took the theatre innovatively sensual by storm which are the following: Kim Donghee, Kang Chunil, Lee Yunje, Kim Jinwoo, Roh Jinwook, Jeong Hansaem, Lee Heejung and Han Ji Wook. The show started with an announcement that all video taking or photos for the whole show is strictly prohibited – which was new for the crowd after all for the Filipino Fan Culture taking every seconds in camera of a Concert or Fanmeet counts for each one of us to look back into when we would be hit by PCD or Post-Concert Depression, but on this show it is a remarkable feat that you certainly could remember every acts despite not recording Fancams as you were used to be doing like clockwork.

On the first act of the show, a grand entrance of a curtain shadow play by one of the members that made the theater full of anticipation what might be next and the grand entrance of the eight men on their best suits thrilled the crowd with the trick of the seductive light show on the stage with the on theme music beat which helped set the mood into a mysterious kind of vibe that you could be guessing what would be happen next – and for sure in that one hour and a half of this musical – it was definitely a unique way of showing the art of dancing and by highlighting it thru the beautiful curves and depths of the human body. All performances are different and quirky from one another;  a breath of fresh air in between solo and group acts like you were transported to the Renaissance Era Period where famous sculptors show art in beautiful marbling stones to forecast the art of the human body but in this show you see the art in motion live and for sure kudos to the great lightning directors of this musical for knowing what set of colors and effects are in par with each other and the choice of music that is being danced into for that specific act itself.

Men in suits prancing the stage of the theater like it’s their own runway was a cool opening act of the show followed by the shower themed performance that reminded me of those 80’s retro style movies we grew up watching that were mostly inspired by the playing of silhouettes and shadows of a human body making it sultry and exciting. The mere fact the members used a simple white towel as a prop made it more than a hot steamy passionate number which teases the crowd that there would be more to come for this remarkable show even it was already just the opening act of the show but they were giving everything and maybe more than you could definitely imagine. And yes, it was only a part of too much to count pleasing acts they did live on stage for 75 whole minutes, a concept you would never imagine could fit perfectly with each other which is combining art in its more vulnerable sensual form by using the curves of the human body yet making it still respectfully beautiful as an act of art itself.

A bed and chair routine performance followed with lucky three female guests selected by the members from the crowd and it was a darkest fantasy made real with no holding back indeed. But along those many alluring acts of the show, the ballet inspired solo of member Han Jin Wook was one of the few that stood up the most – to be able to make a theatrical dance of graceful precise movements and to make it erotic by simply wearing an unopened white shirt and simple blue jeans yet still making it an art is something you would never get in your mind onto after all ballet is a unique way to experience art through expressive language of movements and it’s bond with music but they make it sexy in its own way. The duo fun performance of members Jeong Hansaem and Kim Donghee was a cute sitcom inspired while they were wearing their cleaning men uniforms and dancing all the way while using the cleaning mop as their medium. Of course the dark upbeat atmosphere of the drum performance was full of bold movements and flexing of those muscles as they played those traditional Korean drums alongside the water play that were enhanced by the beautiful light play. The cast made sure that the audience would be more than satisfied as they interacted with everyone from the stage and even off stage making sure the fan-service was a top-notch feature of this show. As the finale comes close, the eight members return for an encore of one last explosive seductive performance with only wearing their plain white shirts and blue jeans on; completing the boy next door concept! These eight Oppa-deul, closed the show with the performance of “It’s Raining Men” as they interacted with the crowd more this time and as they performed their hearts out for one last time, and yes it was definitely raining men as me myself got a BingoPlus towel that one cast member wiped off his sweat that everyone around me got wild to catch but fortunately I was one of those the lucky girls in the audience to got this unique souvenir.

It is more than a sultry show but it is art with many themes, fueling the high-energy fantasies of our darkest dreams alongside with jaw-dropping sensual acts that is definitely a treat. It is definitely a Wild Wild After Party, a breath-taking art in motion that makes you want more and hopefully we can see what they could offer as they come back for next time.

Kitchie Nadal brings “New Ground” to the Big Dome: A Fusion of the past and future

by Philippine KPOP Convention June 11, 2025
written by Philippine KPOP Convention

This is more than a comeback—it’s a rediscovery.

Following the success of her 20th anniversary concert “Same Ground,” OPM icon Kitchie Nadal is set to take on a bold new direction with her upcoming show titled “New Ground,” happening on June 21 at the Araneta Coliseum.

After celebrating two decades in the music industry, Kitchie is embracing a “New Ground”, which will feature not just a new sound, but also performing to a new generation of audience. “It’s hard to be expected to play the same songs the same way after 20 years,” Kitchie shared during a recent press conference. She added, “Anything that doesn’t grow is dead.”

Aside from the Big Dome stage, she also preparing to take “New Ground” here and beyond the Philippines. With Spain as her current home base, she dreams of touring across the European continent—especially in places where Filipino music rarely reaches. “If you bring Filipino music to life, you bring these places to life too,” she reflected.

Joining her on this exciting concert are OPM artists Zild, KAIA, and Skusta Clee, all of whom she personally chose to collaborate with. All three artists said yes, and Kitchie is thrilled to perform back in the Philippines with these talented artists from this generation.

The concert will also mark the release of a brand-new single, which will be available across digital platforms. Alongside this, Kitchie is preparing a new EP—featuring one new original track and reimagined versions of her hit releases. Songs like “Landas” will showcase her shift into more globally influenced music.

As a full-time mom living in Spain, Kitchie finds ways to stay creative while navigating motherhood. “I write, record, and work remotely,” she shared. “And now, I want to go to places that are hard to reach like Zamboanga in the Philippines and countries like Malta, Poland, Iceland to connect with Filipinos around the world.”

Despite her time away from the local scene, she’s found joy in seeing Gen Z fans still listening to her hits like “Huwag Na Huwag Mong Sasabihin,” “Bulong,” and “Same Ground” and adding these songs to their playlists. “There’s still so much love from the Filipino crowd. That energy is different and it’s what I missed most in the Philippines.” Kitchie’s message to her younger self, “Just keep making music”.

Catch Kitchie Nadal live at the Araneta Coliseum on June 21. Special thanks to Black Star Entertainment.
