Filipino Eris Falls Head Over Heels for ‘Byun Pogi’

by Philippine KPOP Convention October 20, 2025
written by Philippine KPOP Convention

Baekhyun of EXO brought his widely anticipated “Reverie” world tour to Manila last Saturday night, transforming the Mall of Asia Arena into a sea of silver lights sticks and passionate screams. The one night of performance was more than simply a concert; it was a night of memories and genuine artistry that had Filo Eris hoping time would stop.

Baekhyun’s sincerity and affection were evident right when the concert started. He couldn’t resist but to say “You guys sing so well”— multiple times over the evening, obviously amazed by the enthusiasm of the crowd. He alao added that tonight’s concert was a lot of fun, “Its so sad that we only have a one-day concert.” He smiled and  said that “But of course, today is today, just like right now, all you guys have to do is enjoy until the end of the concert.”

And fans did enjoy it. EXO-L served as an inspiration for Baekhyun’s loving phrase for his fans, Filo Eris, which filled the arena with loud cheers and superb shouts. When fans smoothly performed “UN Village,” he was even taken aback. He said “I thought you guys forgot about the fanchant… but during the outro, I guess I was wrong.” Later he also said that Manila crowd’s passion and intensity were “almost the best,” solidifying Philippines’ status as one of the most enthusiastic stops of any KPOP tour.

Everyone was reminded by Baekhyun’s performance why he is often praised as one of KPOP’s most versatile artist. His unique voice, which was powerful yet soft filled the arena. Soft falsettos and powerful high notes were seamlessly transitioned by Baekhyun, from the romantic sounds of “Bambi,” to the rising internsity of “Love Comes Back.”

His rock influenced songs like “Cold Heart,” and “Psycho” showed off his fierce side, while songs like “Ghost,” and “Pineapple Slice” displayed his elegant and precise dancing skills. On the other hand, his lively enthusiasm reappeared in “Betcha,” and “Candy” where he showed his trademark sly smile.

Fan favorites like “Chocolate,” “Elevator,” “Lemonade,” and “Black Dreams” where among the 22 songs on the setlist, which also included songs from his most recent EP, “Essence of Reverie.” Each performance really highlighted his artistry and emotional depth.

Beyond the performances, Baekhyun led the crowd in a corrdinated wave of lightsticks during “Garden in the Air,” swaying from side to side before jokingly comparing it to “playing with a baby.” He also added that he bleached his hair for hours just to look good which sparked applause and shouts from his fans saying “Pogi!.” He then came with a nickname “Byun Pogi,” which quickly turned popular among the fans.

Baekhyun made sure to go above and beyond even during the encore. His impromptu performances of songs that weren’t on the setlist, such as “Late Night Calls,” “Beautiful,” “Dream,” and “Cry For Love,” pleased his fans.

With Baekhyun ending the night, he ended with a promise that sent his fans roaring once more: “I’ll try my best to come back as soon as possible.”

The event was made possible by CDM Entertainment.
