[PRESS RELEASE] Healing through K-Culture: Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines launches nationwide nomination campaign, ‘K-Healing’ to honor frontliners

by Philippine KPOP Convention

The COVID-19 pandemic, when it first arrived on Philippine shores, turned the lives of many of the Filipinos upside down. It caused grief, confusion, and despair. But while the pandemic has left many dispirited, due to an uncertain future, it has opened up an opportunity to show how truly brave, selfless, and extraordinary Filipinos are.

Despite heading into our seventh month of quarantine, Filipinos are comforted knowing that there are heroes among us, frontliners who have risked their very lives to uphold their duties in safeguarding the health of the public.

From doctors to nurses, barangay officials, military men, police officers, grocery attendants, and janitors, among others, all of them show up without fail, helping to battle the global pandemic head on at the frontlines. These courageous individuals inspire us every day to come together and they give us hope that we will overcome this crisis.

K-Healing: Overcome Together

Healing comes in different forms.
In an effort to recognize all the selfless acts and sacrifices and as a response to the overwhelming support and gratitude to the Filipino frontline heroes, the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) launches a very special and most personal campaign yet, titled K-Healing: Overcome Together.
This campaign aims to show appreciation to the all the modern-day heroes and share their stories of courage and sacrifice. It seeks to put faces and names to these inspiring individuals who continue to risk their lives for us and all our loved ones.

In this meaningful and first-of-a-kind initiative, individuals can nominate a Filipino frontline hero, who, if selected, will receive an amazing K-Healing Package. Through this unique care package, KCC not only aims to invite the frontline heroes to experience the best of Korean care and culture, but to also find healing through products for pampering, relaxation, entertainment and education.
How to nominate a frontline hero?

The K-Healing: Overcome Together campaign is open to Filipinos residing in the Philippines. The nationwide nomination period is open from October 5-31, 2020. All nominations must be submitted on or before October 31, 2020, 11:59 PM. Only entries completed through this link, https://tinyurl.com/khealingnominations, will be considered valid.

Participants can nominate one (1) frontliner for the INDIVIDUAL CATEGORY, or a group of frontliners (for example: restaurant crew, barangay officials, hospital nurses, etc.) for the GROUP CATEGORY (with a maximum of 50 people). Participants can also nominate themselves or their group.

In the nomination form, participants must explain why they chose to nominate the frontliner (group/individual) and why they deserve to receive a K-Healing Package from KCC.

The submission must be written in English and must not exceed 500 words. Nominators are required to include photos and they are encouraged to send videos to further support their entry. Only one entry per person is allowed.

K-Healing Package

Should the nominee be chosen, they will be sent a K-Healing Package from KCC. Nominators can select one (1) of the five (5) K-Healing Packages: K-Pop, K-Drama & Movie, K-Food, K-Language, and K-Beauty & Fashion, which all include exclusive goodies and merchandise from renowned Korean brands.

How will the frontliner be chosen?

KCC will review each and every nomination, seeking the most heartfelt stories of inspiration, courage, and resilience; stories that embody the proud values of ‘bayanihan.’
For the Individual Category, KCC will select 10 nominees, while 15 for the Group Category.

The chosen nominees from the Individual Category will each receive one (1) K-Healing Package, while those selected from the Group Category will receive K-Healing packages based on the number of people in the group (maximum of 50 people).
